The project Perspektivwechsel und Zwischenräume responds to the challenge of artistically enhancing often overlooked museum spaces such as the foyer, auditorium, or library. These functional areas usually contain no exhibits and remain in the background of museum life. The aim is to activate them through interdisciplinary performances combining dance and design, making them visible as open and democratic spaces.
Fashion design students and dancers collaborate in small interdisciplinary groups over six months. In an egalitarian process, they co-create choreography, costumes, and stage design. This results in a creative dialogue where both disciplines influence each other and foster mutual learning.
The highlight is a three-day series of events at the museum: visitors are guided in small groups through the building and experience the performances in different locations. In this way, the project becomes visible in space and opens new perspectives on the architecture and the role of the museum.
A dance project by AMD Wiesbaden, in cooperation with Dance NEXUS and the Landesmuseum Wiesbaden.
