What ist the Module?

World Design Street Festival 2026: An open festival for creative ideas and experimentation

The Module festival takes place on three consecutive weekends in August 2026 in Offenbach, Darmstadt, and Wiesbaden, uniting music and visual arts in an interdisciplinary format. The festival showcases artists whose work equally blends both disciplines and has a significant influence on our pop culture.

Under the theme Design for Democracy, the festival highlights the role of design and culture in shaping inclusive, accessible and vibrant public spaces. The choice of venues – from repurposed industrial sites to renowned cultural institutions such as Mathildenhöhe – creates a stage that enhances the impact of each performance within its specific context.

Events take place in a variety of locations – from former industrial sites to well-known cultural venues like the Mathildenhöhe. These unique settings help highlight and enhance the meaning of each performance or installation.

The festival features a diverse cultural programme including:
Performances, film screenings, readings, city walks, workshops and participatory formats involving local creatives and communities. The aim is to connect people, spark new perspectives and bring different forms of expression into dialogue.

All events are free and open to everyone.
