Konferenz offener Werkstätten und Makerspaces

2026

MakeLab der Goethe Universität

Makespaces and open workshops are places for social and creative gathering that can also be understood as democratic micro-practices. They often have weekly open events and support and advise visitors on implementation and design.

The MakeLab at Goethe University is one such democracy-promoting meeting place that combines knowledge transfer, technical and creative work with social values and inclusion. Many open workshops demonstrate this potential and tendency towards a social and ecological orientation. How such projects come about, are maintained and how their socio-ecological orientation can be promoted will be discussed and explored in a joint exchange. To this end, a two-day conference with inputs and moderation will be held in 2026, to which all open workshops, repair cafés, makerspaces, hackspaces, 3D labs and other creative spaces that combine design and encounter are invited.
