Holidays offers free, open-air concerts in public spaces, responding to young people’s need for accessible cultural participation. The festival creates an inclusive, experimental meeting place that brings together music, community, and diversity.

The project aims to strengthen Frankfurt’s position as an international hub for young, emerging jazz and experimental musicians. A particular focus is placed on FLINTA* artists and local up-and-coming talent. The programme is complemented by a specially curated residency band, living, rehearsing, and performing in Frankfurt over the summer, as well as by a rotating line-up of national and international acts.

Visitors are invited to take an active part – through jam sessions, workshops, and encounters with the artists. Collaborations with the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt and other initiatives promote early cultural participation and networking.

The festival takes place over 21 days on the terrace of the Kunstverein Familie Montez. The stage, food and drink stalls, information point, and art exhibitions combine to create an open, visible overall experience. Sound levels are regulated to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.

Holidays transforms Frankfurt into a vibrant meeting point for music lovers from across Germany and beyond, fostering intercultural exchange and positioning the city as an internationally recognised hotspot for young, innovative live music.

Jazz Montez e.V. has been supporting young, international jazz and experimental musicians for over seven years. For Holidays, the association collaborates with the University of Music and Performing Arts, the Kunstverein Familie Montez, and other partners to strengthen cultural participation, diversity, and networking.
