- Diseñadoras. Die Welt (um)gestalten
March 2027

Fishing nets turn into chairs, milk turns into milk jugs. Coming from various disciplines, twelve spanish designers combine traditional craftsmanship with digital technologies, aiming at a sustainable design that focuses on the needs of the consumers.
For example, Inés Sistiaga uses MRT scans and a knitting machine to create orthopaedic sports bandages. Marta Ayala’s 3D-printed lamp encourages people to produce everyday objects by themselves. One work by each of the twelve artists is presented. In addition to a short biography, we show the making of the finished object through photos and drawings. The exhibition is a contribution by the Instituto Cervantes to the World Design Capital Frankfurt Rhein-Main 2026.
The exhibition opening will take place on October 29, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. A special highlight of the evening will be a performance by BUJ Studio, led by designer Raquel Buj.
With extraordinary, exploratory textiles and sculptural forms, she brings together the body, material, fashion, and space, creating a fascinating connection between design and artistic expression.
Carolina Romahn, CEO of World Design Capital Frankfurt Rhein-Main 2026, will deliver the opening remarks for the evening.
