DGTF Jahreskonferenz

Contemporary geopolitical, societal and ecological instabilities are reshaping the conditions under which both democracy and design operate. This conference examines their mutually constitutive trajectories, positing design as an area of democratic negotiation and democracy as a designed sociopolitical order. It addresses how design practices and discourses respond to, and participate in, emergent configurations of power, participation, and collective practices.

How might design reconfigure agency, inclusion, and accountability in contexts of uncertainty? What regimes of visibility, sense-making, and action does it enable or delimit? Through interdisciplinary dialogue and practice-based inquiry, the conference seeks to advance frameworks that foreground design as mediator, amplifier, or disruptor within evolving democratic landscapes. 

Using a series of inclusive formats, and favoring a transdisciplinary approach, the conference aims at becoming a democratic forum that brings together scholars and practitioners from various backgrounds. It is formed by contributions that question value systems, and propose new models for redistribution, empowerment, and care.
