IU Internationale Hochschule
At the heart of the Design Democracy Camp lies the challenge of declining democratic participation and growing social polarization.
The project addresses the need for new forms of participation that enable creative negotiation processes and bring together diverse perspectives. Design is understood as a tool for societal transformation.
The goal is to make design tangible as a democratic tool and to bring participatory design processes into the public sphere. By combining local knowledge with design expertise, the project activates collective intelligence and creates experimental spaces where democratic values are experienced through collaborative creation.
Participation is open to people of all ages and backgrounds – regardless of prior design experience. Citizens, school students, university students, experts, and initiatives are invited to join. Activities take place in mixed groups in 4–6-hour sprints or in three-day labs.
