formdialog – Olya Dikow
The Darmstadt Architecture Dialogues respond to a concrete need: the lack of open, interdisciplinary spaces for architects to reflect on the social responsibility of their work.
In light of the construction transition, the climate crisis, and social tensions, planners face new challenges – yet time, structures, and formats for discussing attitude, participation, and transformation are often missing. The project aims to fill this gap through a series of events that combine input and dialogue. Each edition focuses on a central future question for architecture – such as new leadership models, participatory planning, or cultural responsibility in the planning process. The emphasis is not on representation but on genuine encounter and exchange on equal footing. People can contribute by sharing their perspectives: as speakers, discussants, hosts, musicians, or through collaborations in the Darmstadt area. Students and young planners are also to be included directly.
The project is curated and moderated by Olya Dikow. She is a strategy consultant and brand designer working at the intersection of architecture, identity and dialogue. With the Darmstadt Architecture Dialogues, she initiates formats that make architecture visible as a cultural practice – and open up spaces for attitude and exchange.
