Like a temporary sculpture made of air, the installation Cumulus Stratus refers to the fragility of our perception and our environment. The fog, both real and immaterial, becomes a metaphor for humanity's current relationship with nature: beautiful and endangered, controlled and uncontrollable at the same time. Its flowing, soft structures invite a sensual encounter and inspire new forms and spatial experiences in which gentle movements, soft organic shapes, and luminous color gradients reveal transience and changeability. In this way, aesthetic experience merges with reflection on transience, nature, and the environment, and the fog becomes not only a medium but also a symbol of the beauty, the threat, and the fragile balance of our present.
In the age of climate change, looking up at the sky takes on a new urgency. Today, clouds are no longer just a poetic phenomenon, but also a symptom of global processes: carriers of storms, indicators of atmospheric changes, repositories and mirrors of human intervention. The installation allows this ambivalence to be experienced sensually—as a moment between enlightenment and dissolution, between wonder and concern.
Since 2011, PRJKTR. has been working to skillfully showcase built spaces by placing them in the field of tension between art and architecture, stage and staging, projection and light.
