Boom! Design Festival Bad Homburg
On April 25 and 26, 2026, the Boom! Design Festival will take place for the 8th time in the city centre of Bad Homburg, presenting one of the region’s most diverse and largest creative and design platforms. The festival demonstrates how vibrant and inspiring urban spaces can be – open, accessible, and full of creative energy.
At the heart of the festival is the large design market – Hesse’s biggest and one of the largest in Germany – spanning the Kurhaus, the city centre, and the Louisen Arkaden. More than 200 designers, makers, manufacturers, and emerging labels present contemporary products, unique pieces, fine craftsmanship, and innovative services. The distinctive combination of historic architecture, urban public space, and a modern shopping environment makes the design market a truly special experience for visitors.
A curated selection of high-quality gourmet food trucks complements the design and art scene with culinary delights. Regional and international specialties create a genuine festival atmosphere and turn Boom! into a place to enjoy, relax, and linger.
The cultural program also features international street art, music and poetry performances on four street stages, and creative workshops.
Particular highlights include Illumat – Illustration for Democracy, where a collective of artists live-illustrates visitors’ thoughts on democracy and the future, as well as artist and street art workshops in which visitors, children, and young people collaborate on a large-scale community artwork. In cooperation with the illustrators’ collective Kombinatrotweiss, the festival also presents a pop-up gallery and artist workshops, offering insights into the creative processes and crafts of individual artists.
The opening hours for the Boom! Design Festival and Design Market are Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 18.
The event is organised by Kur- und Kongreß-GmbH Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe together with the town of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe, in cooperation with World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026 and with the support of AnneSvea.de and Louisen Arkaden Bad Homburg.
