- BEAT BY BITS – AN OPEN-AIR VERSION OF 16BIT
Paula Rosolen/Haptic Hide
BEAT BY BITS (BBB) is a dance performance originally created for public spaces across Frankfurt like Honsellbrücke and Hauptwache and has reached and been presented in iconic outdoor locations including the Hôtel de Ville, the public square of Notre-Dame de Paris, the market hall Le Carreau du Temple, the banks of the Seine River, the Marienplatz, among others. The work explores the social, cultural, and political dimensions of techno, making them tangible through a vibrant interplay of sound, colour, and movement. The project is open to everyone, whether or not they have previous experience with theatre or contemporary dance. By bringing dance directly into public space, BEAT BY BITS creates opportunities for encounters between people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
Developed in collaboration with local cultural institutions, the project contributes to the vitality of Frankfurt’s cultural landscape while actively involving dancers and artists from the Rhine-Main region. Following the performance, audiences are invited to continue the experience together: an informal dance session at MOMEM - Museum of Modern Electronic Music extends the energy of the event as part of its Friday Frequencies – Social Clubbing series (free entrance).
