In specially designed Future Workshops, primary school children collaborate with school social workers to develop ideas and projects that express their vision of a child-friendly city.
Equipped with a backpack full of research tools – an instant camera and a workbook – children explore their neighborhoods, document places with potential for change, and develop new ideas for public spaces.
Across various locations, a wide range of actions and projects take shape, actively involving children in urban development. Participation is not only a right, but also a vital opportunity for living democracy. Taking children’s perspectives seriously helps build a fairer and more sustainable society.
The project aims to raise adult awareness of young people’s concerns and to develop long-term strategies for child-friendly urban planning.
