AN ALLE
Künstlerinnenhaus Freitagsküche, Tobias Still & Maiken Laackmann
Digital spaces are increasingly becoming a central part of our social life. While corporations exploit the digital extension of urban spaces for profit maximization, the urban community is often excluded from shaping and using this forward-looking dimension.
“AN ALLE” raises the urgent question: Who owns the digital public space? The project advocates for the democratization of digital urban spaces through three artistic AR interventions that develop alternative, non-commercial visions for digital space design, activate passersby via low-threshold web-AR experiences using QR codes on urban signs, and create a “digital city whisper”—a communication layer in the urban space that enables social exchange without advertising or commercial influence.
The selected artists create site-specific AR interventions that open critical and creative perspectives on digital space. AR walks connect existing and new installations into a “Route of Resistance” against digital commercialization. The project documents people’s reactions, raising awareness of the need to understand and defend digital spaces as a common good.
