Agenten einer ökologischen Architektur. Lucius Burckhardt und der Werkbund

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Lucius Burckhardt's chairmanship of the German Werkbund (1976–83), this exhibition pays tribute to his visionary ideas for a different kind of architecture that is socially and ecologically just.

During this period, Burckhardt developed his central themes and writings on planning criticism, participatory urban design, the preservation and new appreciation of existing buildings, theoretical and practical reflections on nature and landscape, as well as a critical reflection and reform of the basic ideas of the Werkbund. As part of the Werkbund network, his companions Ot Hoffmann and Michael Andritzky are also featured. The exhibition thus aims to contribute to the architectural revolution of the 21st century. It also attempts to extend Burckhardt's established strollology to digital spaces, which today have a significant influence on our society.

The supporting programme will include city walks and a series of talks.
