To mark International Democracy Day, we warmly invite you to an information and discussion event at the Stadthaus. This day of action provides an ideal opportunity to engage in dialogue about current democratic developments in Europe.
Five months after the elections in Hungary, it is time to take stock of political developments in the country. How did Péter Magyar come to win the election, and what factors were decisive in this? What reforms and changes has the new government been able to initiate in its first few months? What is the state of democracy, the rule of law, the economy and Hungary’s role in Europe?
Prof. Dr Ellen Bos, Head of the Chair of Comparative Politics specialising in Central and Eastern Europe within the EU, will contextualise the current developments, analyse the political and social changes and examine the country’s future prospects. Afterwards, all participants are invited to ask questions and take part in the group discussion.
The event is being held in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
