For three days, [T]RaumTheater invites cultural and theater makers from Frankfurt and the surrounding area to an open walk-in format at the NAXOS Production House.
[T]RaumTheater is part installation, part workshop, and part meeting place. For four hours at a time, the space becomes a creative and reflective zone around your own “dream theater.” Which moments shaped us? What was powerful, brave, moving? What do we want to preserve—and what to change? Through video prompts, theater literature, and open workspaces, visitors can write, design, remember, exchange, or simply leave their mark.
Inspired by the Just in Time project of the artist duo deufert&plischke, in which letters are written to dance, [T]RaumTheater is part of the WDC project Social-Ecological Transformation of the City Theater: Letters to the Future of a Bourgeois Public Institution at Goethe University’s Theater Studies department, guided by the duo and Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Müller-Schöll.
A 2.5-hour workshop with deufert&plischke is also part of the program (for 15–20 participants, open to all ages and experience levels). Personal theater memories serve as the starting point, explored through games, movement exercises, and discussion, and concluding with a collaboratively written letter to the theater.
Voices and materials gathered during [T]RaumTheater will likely be presented in summer in a form yet to be determined, alongside contributions from other project groups.
Ground level access. Wheelchair-accessible toilet. Low-threshold format for shared exchange about theatre.
