Frankfurt – a melting pot of diverse cultures and traditions, a city in constant change, and a place where democracy, social cohesion, and urban design go hand in hand. As the World Design Capital (WDC) 2026, Frankfurt is particularly in focus for how design and participation can shape the city of the future.

In our VHS discussion series, conducted in cooperation with the Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft, host Hassan Annouri invites prominent personalities from culture, sports, politics, and society to dialogue with Frankfurt residents on a monthly basis. Together, they discuss what identity and participation mean in a diverse city and how we can actively shape communal life – not least in the context of the WDC initiative, which highlights the city as a designable space for everyone.

In this edition, the topic of discussion is "Racism and Antisemitism in Frankfurt". Together, they will discuss what identity and participation mean in a diverse city and how we can actively shape our community life.

The guest speakers are: Alon Meyer, President of Makkabi Deutschland; Pantoula Vagelakou, Managing Director of INFRAU; Tara Moradi, Alliance 90/The Greens; and Mohammed Seddadi, Managing Director of the Islamic Community of Frankfurt (e. V.).
