On German Unity Day, as part of the project Denk_mal – Remembering Means Listening, the temporary webbing strap installation will be set up around the Unity Monument at St Paul’s Church.
Be there live to see the webbing being put in place!
But it’s not just the location that speaks: the voices of local people will also form part of the project. Through the Call: Unity initiative, people can share personal memories, thoughts and stories relating to German reunification, the upheaval of 1989–90 and the period that followed. The contributions will be collected and form part of a growing audio archive on the project website.
You’re also welcome to use the answering machine outside of the event to become part of the archive. Call free of charge on +49 177 3416062.
The webbing strap will be installed at the Unity Monument in front of St Paul’s Church from 02.10.–22.11.2026.
