How can Germany and South Korea secure their economies for the future in a world characterized by dynamic transformations and mounting risks?
This is the topic of a business dialogue jointly organized by the German-Korean Forum, the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Europe on 3 September 2026 at Stadthaus Frankfurt.
Geopolitical tensions, shifting trade dynamics and an increasingly complex security environment are reshaping the way internationally active companies operate. Economic security has become a strategic imperative for export-driven countries such as Germany and South Korea. The concern of companies is no longer just the resilience of supply chains. Access to critical technologies like batteries, semiconductors and artificial intelligence, the availability of strategic raw materials, cyber security and data autonomy have all become assets for long-term competitiveness. At the same time the defense and security sector is emerging as a driver of innovation, opening new opportunities in manufacturing and dual use technologies.
With high-ranking speakers from South Korea and Germany we want to explore strategies for more industrial resilience and sustainable growth. How do risks re-shape corporate strategies? Where do they give rise to new competition and what role can strategic partnerships play? And how do the interests of the private sector and public policy align? These are just some of the questions we hope to answer in a keynote address and panel discussion. The event concludes with a reception for networking and exchange with distinguished guests from South Korea and Germany.
