re_Design Democracies: Prelude "1000 declarations on democracies"

1000 declarations on Democracies the new competition call for entries that will take place this autumn and next spring with the aim of creating a presentation-installation-exhibition in Frankfurt (Germany) as part of Frankfurt World Design Capital 2026 and in Saint-Étienne at the Cité du Design.

As part of Civic City's “Re-design democracies” project, we want to listen to and give a voice to the new generation in different countries around the world on the theme of democracy.

By asking them, regardless of their expertise in the field, to make a 3-5 minute film on their own or in small groups, we expect their statement not to be limited to a single slogan or corporate expression, as might be the case with a poster or other graphic media.

The thousand statements, or however many we manage to collect, will be presented progressively and daily in 2026 on social networks, then exhibited in the form of installations in Frankfurt and other cities.
