Kollektive Resonanz – Natur wird Clubsound
Centralstation Veranstaltungs-GmbH
The installation is conceived as a laboratory for sustainability, participation and acoustic self-efficacy. Sensors detect movements in the room and transmit them to a generative composition system. This transforms them in real time into rhythm, dynamics and sound texture. The resulting music is based on concepts of acoustic ecology and always remains tangible in its origin: natural and environmental sounds merge with and into electronic and instrumental sounds, which are visually complemented by 360° projections.
The specific design in spatially transparent 3D audio enables individual movements to be assigned to the overall acoustic picture. This creates a collective sound space in which every movement affects the overall composition – intuitively, unpredictably, but noticeably.
The ‘Club of the Future’ is a space of possibility in which ecological and social utopias are translated into sound. No fixed dramaturgy, no predetermined direction – just an audiovisual ecosystem that changes with every step.
The ‘Club of the Future’ is a project of the ‘audio°visual°experience°360° Institute for European Media Culture’ (abbreviated: ‘AVE360’) at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Department of Media, conceived and realised by Prof. Sabine Breitsameter and her team, in cooperation with the Centralstation cultural and event centre.
