Der Club der Zukunft: Körper im Klangraum

Kollektive Resonanz – Natur wird Clubsound

In cooperation with the Media Campus of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da), "Der Club der Zukunft" will take shape on Saturday, 5 September in the hall of the Centralstation—a walk-in 3D audio installation in which immersive environmental and natural sounds are transformed into a danceable soundscape through the actions of visitors.

What begins as a quiet soundscape gradually intensifies into an audiovisual club experience, culminating in an energetic rave. Beforehand, visitors can personally control, transform, regenerate, mix, and set sounds in motion across the space. Sensors capture the actions and interactions of the guests on site, transmitting them to a sound system for further sonic processing. This transforms them in real time into rhythm, dynamics, spatial positioning, movement, and sound texture.

The underlying audio material is based on concepts of Acoustic Ecology and remains tangible in its origin: natural and environmental sounds merge with and into electronic and instrumental tones, which are visually complemented from start to finish by 360° projections from VJ Philipp Schober.

The event passes through several phases that can be experienced individually or as a complete whole:

• Phase I (18:00): Sculptural sound installation featuring nature sounds in 3D audio
• Phase II (19:00): In the interactive section, visitors have the opportunity to directly influence the sounds
• For the remaining programme from 20:00 onwards, registration via the Centralstation website is required. Admission remains free of charge for the rest of the evening.
• Phase III (20:00): Urban Resonances—an acoustic expedition in 3D audio through the Rhine-Main area (Production: Soundscape & Environmental Media Lab/h_da)
• Phase IV (20:30): Mookee (Main Act) with live visuals by VJ Philipp Schober
• Phase V (approx. 21:30 to approx. 22:00): Chill-out
