To mark the state's 80th anniversary, the Hessian State Parliament, in cooperation with the Museum Wiesbaden, is presenting an exhibition dedicated to the development and design of political posters in Hesse and Germany from the end of the First World War to the first Hessian state election after reunification.
To mark the state's 80th anniversary and the second Parliamentary Evening of Culture, the Hessian State Parliament, in cooperation with the Museum Wiesbaden, is presenting an exhibition dedicated to the development and design of political posters in Hesse and Germany from the end of the First World War to the first Hessian state election after reunification. The posters, which come from the Maximilian Karagöz collection, the holdings of the parliamentary groups in the Hessian State Parliament and the archives of several political foundations, offer a cross-section of more than seven decades of design and contemporary history. The Museum Wiesbaden is presenting posters from the Weimar Republic era, while the Hessian State Parliament is focusing on the decades after 1945. An accompanying exhibition catalogue with several specialist articles is devoted to various aspects of the technical, social and, above all, creative contexts of the political poster, which was of great importance as a central visual medium of the 20th century.
